The UEFA Women's EURO 2025 final draw took place on 16 December at the Swiss Tech Convention Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland.

How the sides line up in the group stage

Group A
Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Finland

Group B
Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy

Group C

Group D
France, England, Wales, Netherlands

The draw split the 16 contenders into four groups of four teams. Hosts Switzerland are being joined in the final tournament by eight teams that progressed directly from the qualifying league stage plus seven play-off winners. The top two teams from each final tournament group advance to the knockout phase.

Group stage fixture, schedule

Former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright and Swiss sports presenter Annette Fetscherin anchored the broadcast of the draw, enlisting the help of Leonardo Bonucci (Italy), Verónica Boquete (Spain), Lara Dickenmann (Switzerland), Sami Khedira (Germany), Jill Scott (England), Caroline Seger (Sweden), Xherdan Shaqiri (Switzerland) and Raphaël Varane (France).

The ceremony also included a performance from Swiss artist Stress featuring Karolyn, an appearance from Women's EURO 2025 mascot Maddli and the official unveiling of the tournament match ball.

Draw overview

The teams were divided into four groups of four teams, Groups A to D.

Hosts Switzerland were placed in position A1.

The 15 teams that qualified via the European Qualifiers were classified in accordance with the overall Women's European Qualifiers league stage rankings.

Pot allocation

Hosts (placed in position 1 of Group A): Switzerland

Pot 1 (positions 1 to 3 in rankings): Spain, Germany, France

Pot 2 (positions 4 to 7 in rankings): Italy, Iceland, Denmark, England

Pot 3 (positions 8 to 11 in rankings): Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Belgium

Pot 4 (positions 12 to 15 in rankings): Finland, Poland, Portugal, Wales

The three seeded teams from Pot 1 were drawn into positions one in Group B to D.

The remaining 12 teams were allocated at random to positions 2 to 4 in each group. For this purpose, four additional pots (Pots A to D) with three balls each were used:

Pot A: Positions A2, A3 and A4

Pot B: Positions B2, B3 and B4

Pot C: Positions C2, C3 and C4

Pot D: Positions D2, D3 and D4

The group positions determine the order of matches in the group stage, as outlined in the match schedule

Draw procedure

The draw started with Pot 1, from where the teams were drawn to fill position 1 in each group.

One ball was drawn and the team assigned to position 1 of Group B; a second ball was drawn and the team assigned to position 1 of Group C; the last ball was drawn and the team assigned to position 1 of Group D.

The draw continued with Pot 2. A ball was drawn and the team assigned to Group A. In order to determine the position of the drawn team within Group A (i.e. A2, A3 or A4) a ball was drawn from Pot A. A second ball was drawn from Pot 2 and assigned to Group B. Once again, to determine the position of the drawn team within Group B, a ball was drawn from Pot B. The same procedure was repeated for Groups C and D consecutively until all balls from Pot 2 had been drawn and the teams positioned in each group.

Once Pot 2 was emptied, the draw proceeded to Pot 3 and then to Pot 4, using the same procedure as for Pot 2.
