Final hero Hegerberg finishes top scorer

Ada Hegerberg finished the UEFA Women's Champions League season as top scorer but the Lyon striker just missed out on a record tally.

Having scored twice in each of Lyon's first five games this season to overtake qualifying round top scorer Ebere Orji of Ferencváros, Hegerberg added two more in the 7-0 semi-final first leg defeat of Paris Saint-Germain. She then broke the deadlock in the 12th minute of the final in Reggio Emilia, but her total of 13 is one shy of that registered by Conny Pohlers (Turbine Potsdam, 2004/05), Margrét Lára Vidarsdóttir (Valur Reykjavík, 2008/09) and Célia Šašić (FFC Frankfurt, 2014/15)

Earlier in the season, Paris striker Anja Mittag overtook retired former Potsdam and Germany team-mate Conny Pohlers's competition record of 48, though will have to wait for her club's return next season to have a chance of making the half century.

Marta's five goals leaves her only three behind ex-Rosengård colleague Mittag in the all-time list while Lotta Schelin scored in both legs of Lyon's win against Paris to become set a new record of 41 for a single club in this competition. She leaves Lyon after this final.
