Potsdam stun Lyon as round of 16 concludes

Olympique Lyonnais lost on away goals to 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam as the round of 16 ended with ASD Torres Calcio, SV Neulengbach and Tyresö FF also progressing.

Frauen Bundesliga team 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam caused the shock of the competition so far by rallying from two down on aggregate to eliminate perennial finalists and fellow two-time winners Olympique Lyonnais on away goals. ASD Torres Calcio also wiped out a deficit in progressing, but things were more straightforward for SV Neulengbach and Tyresö FF.

They join holders VfL Wolfsburg, 2007 winners Arsenal LFC and two further first-time quarter-finalists, FC Barcelona and Birmingham City LFC, in the draw for the remainder of the competition, streamed live on UEFA.com at 14.00CET on 21 November from Nyon.

Olympique Lyonnais 1-2 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam (agg: 2-2, Potsdam win on away goals)
A crowd of almost 10,000 watched in surprise as Lyon − finalists for the past four seasons − exited the competition. When the unmarked Camile Abily doubled the French side's aggregate advantage in what was a repeat of the 2010 and 2011 showpieces, progress seemed all but assured for Patrice Lair's team.

The visitors levelled when captain Stefanie Draws headed in Lia Wälti's 33rd-minute corner and, with a little over a quarter of an hour remaining, landed the telling blow from the spot. Saki Kumagai was penalised for handball, giving Maren Mjelde the chance to put Potsdam in the ascendancy and avenge their defeat by Lyon in the 2012 semi-finals.

Tyresö FF 4-0 Fortuna Hjørring (agg: 6-1)
Tyresö coasted into the next round and condemned 2003 runners-up Fortuna to a last-16 exit for the fifth successive season. The Swedish representatives were four up by the break. Whitney Engen set them on their way by delicately touching in a set piece taken by Meghan Klingenberg. Kirsten van der Ven then converted a cross from Marta, who made it three after 45 minutes. Verónca Boquete's added-time free-kick was the last act of the half.

ASD Torres Calcio 2-0 FC Rossiyanka (agg: 2-1)
Torres got the break they were looking for from a direct free-kick curled over the wall and into the top right-hand corner by Pamela Conti. Rossiyanka responded with Tatiana Skotnikova hitting the crossbar early in the second half.

Patrizia Panico kept her composure to score on 63 minutes after being played in by substitute Aurora Galli. Heading into five minutes of added time, one goal would have been enough to take the Russian side through, and they very nearly got it. Nompumelelo Nyandeni chipped the ball past Torres keeper Gaëlle Thalmann, but Giulia Domenichetti came to her rescue with a desperate goal-line clearance.

SV Neulengbach 3-0 Konak Belediyespor (agg: 6-0)
Neulengbach, in their 11th European season, are into the last eight for the first time. The Austrian side repeated their first-leg result, with Nina Burger, who registered a hat-trick in Turkey last week, rounding off the scoring. The captain is now one goal away from becoming the first player to score 40 times for a single team in UEFA women's club competition and also the first non-German to reach that figure.
